TERMS & CONDITIONS

DEPOSIT & CANCELLATION POLICY

We request a 20% deposit to our PayPal account (except for direct online bookings). This deposit is refundable (less admin fees) if you cancel up to 48 hours *(72 hours from Dec 15-Jan15) prior to the booking. Please put the following in the notes section “(your name) surf lesson and (the date of the lesson)” when you make the deposit. If you would like to pay in full up front there is a 6% admin fee.

Online bookings via our website are paid in full and no refunds will be provided within the 48 hour (72 hours Dec 15-Jan15) window. If you cancel prior to 48 hours you will receive a full refund (less admin fees). The person making the booking accepts responsibility for payment.

If you cancel within 24 hours of the booking we require full payment unless you communicate and we accept that exceptional circumstances have occurred to prevent you from attending the lesson. Where exceptional circumstances occur we will do our best to reschedule the lesson one time where possible, if you cancel a second time you are responsible for the cancellation and no refunds will be issued under any circumstances.

Any outstanding balance can be paid in cash on the day of the lesson. If you would like to pay the remainder by PayPal we charge a 6% transfer fee and it must be paid before the start of the lesson.

If for some reason the conditions are unsafe to surf and we cannot deliver the lesson at another time we will refund the deposit or full prepaid balance (less admin fees) to you in full. No refunds are issued under normal circumstances. No refunds will be issued for cancellation of surf camps or retreats.

If you need to change your booking we will make every effort to accommodate any changes to lessons after the booking has been confirmed. Notice of the requested change must be provided at least 48 hours before the lesson start time and changes will be subject to availability.

For clinics and surf camps we can accommodate changes, subject to availability, and provided we have received two weeks advance notice before the start dates. 

 

All participant’s information must be received before they are allowed to take part in any activities. 

A deposit is payable at time of booking for our products unless otherwise stated. We accept cash or PayPal payments. All PayPal transactions (other than deposits) include a 6% transfer fee.

PARTICIPATION, LIABILITY AND OTHER INFORMATION 

All lessons (surfing, and surf skate) carry a degree of risk both to people and property, even if under proper supervision by qualified instructors. It is also a strenuous activity that requires those taking part to have a reasonable standard of swimming and fitness.

Our lessons carry moderate risk of minor cuts and bruises and a very small risk of more serious incidents. However, all our instructors follow robust operational procedures to reduce these risks as much as possible without impeding the adventurous nature of the activity.

All customers participating in lessons must make the school aware of any medical conditions, illnesses or allergies which might affect the customers ability to safely participate in the lesson or course. 

 

No one should participate in a lesson if they are pregnant or suffering from a heart condition.

We also expect customers to follow instructions at all times for your own safety.

All customers must be able to swim at least 50 m comfortably.

No customer should participate in the lessons while under the influence of drugs, alcohol or medication that might impede judgment or motor skills.

 

The company does not seek to limit or exclude any liability for personal injury or loss of life which may occur as a result of its own negligence or that of its employees, contractors or agents however, the school assumes no liability in respect of personal injury, loss, damage, consequential loss or third party claims which occur through no fault of its own, its employees, officers or agents. All other liability or conditions implied by law are excluded to the fullest extent possible. 

SURF & WEATHER CONDITIONS

In the rare event we cannot hold a booked lesson due to the weather or surf conditions, the surf school will offer an alternative sport, an alternative lesson date, issue a voucher of equal value or provide a refund. Credit vouchers should be used within 12 months of the cancellation. Refunds will be processed within 30 days from the day of the cancellation. All postponed orders will be deleted, if not used, after 365 days.

SURF CAMP OR TOURS

In addition to our booking terms and liability, we expect all customers to take out their own insurance for all eventualities including 3rd party injury.

SALT Surf As Life Therapy  takes no responsibility for any extra costs the customer may face from cancellation of a surf camp or tour subject to external factors out of SALT’s control. Examples of this could be flights being canceled, extreme weather incidents, pandemics, war or terrorism. This list is not exclusive.

All liability with regard to sharing fellow customers transportation is with the driver and vehicle insurance. SALT Surf As Life Therapy does not own any of the accommodation we may stay in or suggest and the contract is between the client and the accommodation provider. Any complaints and liability claims should be made with the accommodation provider directly.

PAYMENT 

Full payment is expected before the lesson, course or surf camp takes place. We accept cash or PayPal payments. All PayPal transactions (other than deposits) include a 6% transfer fee.

VAT

All products and services shown on this website are not inclusive of 13% VAT. 

PRICE CHANGES 

Occasionally we will increase prices at the start or during the season. All bookings made before the price change will be honored at the original price.
